Hormone levels can change with age and with certain medical conditions. When symptoms suggest a hormone imbalance, the first step is an evaluation, not a treatment. Dr. Disilvestro assesses hormone health through a consultation, a physical examination, a review of your medical history, and laboratory testing.
If testing and examination confirm a diagnosis such as testosterone deficiency, and if treatment is medically appropriate for you, Dr. Disilvestro will discuss whether hormone therapy is a reasonable option, along with its risks and alternatives. Not every patient is a candidate, and treatment is offered only when it is clinically justified.

Membership begins once a plan is in place. Any prescribed medication is dispensed separately through a licensed pharmacy.
Ongoing monitoring
Care continues with scheduled follow-ups and repeat labs. Where lawful for established Illinois and Florida patients, some follow-ups may be by telehealth.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signals in the body. Interest has grown quickly, and so has the marketing around it. This is the field explained plainly, including the part most marketing leaves out: where a compound sits with regulators.
Approved, compounded, and investigational
Not all peptides occupy the same regulatory ground, and the difference matters for your safety.
- Some peptide medications are FDA-approved and prescribed for specific, studied uses. These can be considered as part of care when appropriate for you.
- Some may be prepared by compounding pharmacies within limits set by the FDA.
- Many peptides discussed online are investigational and not approved for human use. The FDA has restricted several popular compounds from compounding. Marketing often presents these as established treatments. They are not.
How this practice approaches peptides
Dr. Disilvestro evaluates whether an approved, evidence-based therapy is appropriate for a given patient, the same way he approaches any treatment. He does not offer compounds that are unapproved or restricted for human use, and he is direct about what the evidence does and does not support.
